Toscotec receives eight orders from APP; scheduled to come on stream in Q4 2017 and Q1 2018
(Italy, April 04, 2017) Toscotec has received in total 8 (eight) Tissue Machine order from APP. Two of the Tissue Machines are scheduled to come on stream in Q4 2017 and Q1 2018, respectively. Mitsubishi HiTec Paper to Hike Price for Specialty Papers
(Germany, March 31, 2017) Mitsubishi HiTec Paper said that it will implement a 6-8% price increase for its specialty papers worldwide, beginning with deliveries June 1, 2017.
The German paper producer said, “Rising costs of pulp, chemicals and logistics make this price increase essential.”

FajarPaper Starts Up New Corrugated Medium Paper Machine in Indonesia
(Indonesia, March 31, 2017) FajarPaper on March 24 started up its newest paper machine, PM8, at the company’s mill in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia.
PM8 has the capacity to produce 350,000 metric tons per year of corrugated medium, which will increase the mill’s total production capacity to 1,550,000 metric tpy.

Finnpulp granted environmental permit; first intelligent bioproduct plant in the world
(Helsinki, March 31, 2017) The Regional State Administrative Agency has granted the environmental permit for Finnpulp’s bioproduct plant, which is to be built in Sorsasalo, Kuopio, and the wastewater treatment facility connected to the plant. The environmental permit defines the terms for the pulp plant’s operation in the production phase, as well as for pipeline installation work and changes made to the shore line during the construction phase.

Ittihad International Investment orders fine paper machine

Resolute Forest Products Starts-up New Tissue Machine at Calhoun Mill in Tennessee
(USA, March 29, 2017) Resolute Forest Products today announced the successful start-up of its new tissue machine in Calhoun (Tennessee, USA). The first tissue parent roll was produced on February 28, 2017.
The machine will continue its scheduled ramp-up through 2017 and is expected to be producing at maximum capacity toward mid-2018. With its fully operational converting facility, converted tissue products sold from Calhoun are now manufactured entirely from parent rolls produced on-site.

CMPC reports 2% sales increase in 4Q
(Chile, March 29, 2017) Empresas CMPC S.A. (CMPC) announced its audited results for 4Q 2016. Consolidated sales were $1,271 million for the 4Q 2016, 2% higher compared to 3Q 2016 and to 4Q 2015.
EBITDA totaled $220 million during the 4Q 2016, down 17% quarter-on-quarter and 30% year-on-year.
4Q net loss of $162 million, compared to net income of $37 million in 3Q 2016 and $82 million in 4Q 2015.

Estonian investors eye €1 billion pulp mill
(Estonia, March 27, 2017) A group of Estonian investors have unveiled plans to build a new pulp mill under an investment worth some €1 billion. The investors have applied for a permission to launch the investment to the Estonian Ministry of Finance, reports local broadcaster ERR. Under the plan, the new facility is to be located close to Tartu, the country’s second largest city, in Estonia’s eastern part.
