Resolute to Idle Coated Paper Machine at Catawba; will remove about 193,000 metric tons per year of coated paper capacity

(Canada, June 8, 2017) Resolute Forest Products on June 1 announced that it will idle a paper machine, PM 2, at its Catawba pulp and paper mill in South Carolina on June 30. About 180 employees will be affected by the decision. Brazilian pulp and paper exports increase, French pulp production rises

(Greenwich (CT), USA, June 8, 2017) While Brazilian domestic pulp consumption fell in March 2017, pulp exports surged almost 10 percent. Meanwhile, French pulp production output climbed 3 percent for the month, according to CW Research’s Paper and Pulp Country Market Data coverage available on IPPWeek.com. “Brazilian pulp producers exported 3.3 million tons of pulp, principally driven by Chinese and North American demand. ANDRITZ successfully starts up second tissue machine with steel Yankee for Hebei Yihoucheng, China

(Graz, June 9, 2017) International technology Group ANDRITZ has successfully completed start-up of the second tissue machine supplied to Hebei Yihoucheng, China. The PrimeLineCOMPACT tissue machine has a design speed of 1,650 m/min and a width of 2.85 m. The Yankee, manufactured entirely of steel, has a diameter of 3.65 m. Paper Company SCA Invests €800 Million In Pulp Expansion Project

(Sweden, May 31, 2017) SCA, the Swedish paper-product company, has announced that its ongoing expansion project at the Östrand pulp mill will increase bleached kraft-pulp capacity from 430,000 to 900,000 tonnes per year.
