Romanian cardboard production, demand expand
(Bucharest., Romania, Oct. 24, 2016) Romania’s cardboard consumption rose to 322,000 tonnes in 2015, an increase of 13% compared with a year earlier, according to data from local industry association ARFCO.
With local demand for cardboard expanding, Romanian manufacturers are considering to raise their output capacities, reports local business daily Ziarul Financiar. Currently, Romania-based cardboard producers are enabled with a total capacity of about 723,000 tonnes per year. Of this, about 55% is intended for export sales, mostly to other European Union member states.
In 2016, Romania’s demand for cardboard is expected to continue its growth, local observers say. (Source: press release)
