Södra to increase price for NBSK pulp in Europe
(Stockholm, Sweden, March 07, 2017) As of April 1st 2017 Södra is raising the price of its NBSK pulp in Europe to $860 per tonne. The announcement is a response to a tight global market.
“The volume of pulp on the market is the main driver behind price movements and even small changes in pulp supply can affect the market,” commented Magnus Björkman, VP Marketing and sales Södra Cell. “At the moment, we are seeing a tight supply situation with planned maintenance shutdowns compounded by unplanned shutdowns at several mills, for a variety of reasons. We have not seen this level of tightening in the market for many years.” (Source: press release)
