(Santiago, Chile, Nov. 28, 2016) Empresas CMPC 3Q 2016 revenue was $1,245 million, 5% higher compared to 2Q 2016 and stable compared to 3Q 2015. Quarter-on-quarter, revenues rose in the Tissue and Pulp division. The Tissue business benefitted from higher sales volumes and prices as measured in US Dollars, which benefitted from the weaker dollar as well as higher prices in local currencies.
EBITDA totaled $264 million during the 3Q 2016, up 19% quarter-on-quarter, but down 21% year-on-year.
3Q net income was $37 million, compared to $47 million in 2Q 2016 and a net loss of $40 million in 3Q 2015.
The company’s consolidated results were impacted by the continued decline in pulp prices and negative currency impacts compared to the same quarter last year.
