Volga reaches newsprint production milestone

(Russia, April 18, 2016) On April 17, Volga recorded a production milestone, as the 250,000th tonne of newsprint produced with the new technology was manufactured at high-speed PM8.
Thus, since the new manufacturing process involving 100% TMP furnish was introduced in April last year, the Mill has produced a quarter of a million tonnes of premium quality newsprint, which is 104% to the planned target (from April 2015 to April 2016).
Commenting on the event, Volga’s General Director Dmitry Donchenko says: “This figure is important not only to Volga’s papermakers, who have contributed their efforts and great professionalism to the achievement, but also to our customers and partners both in Russia and abroad. To get a better idea of how much newsprint it is, imagine, if you will, a line of 13,000 trucks, all filled with newsprint! Our future growth is dependent on further development of the TMP newsprint manufacture and we shall continue taking action to this end.”
Today, Volga’s paper is shipped to 76 countries worldwide. The Mill’s partners include large and reputable publishing and printing houses in Europe, Asia, Africa, Central and South America. (Source: press release)
