Sonoco Announces Price Increase for All Uncoated Recycled Paperboard Products
(USA, Sept. 15, 2016) Sonoco today announced that it will raise the price for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard (URB) products by $40 to $60 per ton depending on grade, effective with shipments in the United States and Canada, beginning October 3, 2016.

Dunapack Packaging to acquire the corrugated business of Camis Ambalaj Sanayi in Turkey
(Germany, Sept. 14, 2016) The Dunapack Packaging Division, through Mosburger GmbH, announced on Sept. 1 that it has signed an agreement to purchase the corrugated business of Turkish Packaging Producer Camis Ambalaj Sanayi A.S. The company specializes in shelf-ready, transportation and storage packaging.

(USA, Sept. 14, 2016) New scientific work explains why corrugated packaging outperforms returnable plastic containers (RPCs) when it comes to micro-biological contamination.

Report: The Global Forest Industry in the 2Q/2016
(Seattle, USA, 12 September, 2016) The Softwood Wood Fiber Price Index (SFPI) was up 2.3% from the 1Q/16 to US$89.63/odmt. This was the first quarter-over-quarter increase since early 2014. A combination of a weaker US dollar and higher wood fiber prices in the local currencies in Western Canada, France, Brazil and Germany were the main reasons for the higher SFPI this quarter.

Mondi Hikes Price for All Brown Sack Kraft Paper Grades
(Johannesburg, S Africa, Sept. 13, 2016) Mondi recently informed its customers of a price increase for all brown sack kraft paper grades.
