Total U.S. Boxboard Production Down 2.5% in July

(Washington DC, August 18, 2016) The American Forest & Paper Association has released its July 2016 U.S. Paperboard Report which said total boxboard production decreased 2.5 percent when compared to July 2015 but increased 2.2 percent from last month. Cartiere del Polesine to upgrade four paper machines, increase capacity

(Gernsbach, Germany, August 15, 2016) Cartiere del Polesine in Italy plans various rebuilds on its four paper machines. To implement the projects, the company plans to take downtime measures in August that will last up to nearly four weeks. Parenco starts up packaging paper machine PM 2 at Renkum mill

(The Netherlands, August 15, 2016) Parenco has started up PM 2 at its Renkum mill in the Netherlands. PM 2, a newsprint machine that had been idled in 2009, was converted to produce packaging grade paper and produced the first jumbo roll on August 12. The conversion of the machine took 13 months at a cost of EUR 100 million. The rebuilt machine now produces testliner 3 and recycled fluting with grammages ranging from 70 to 160 g/m2.
