Domtar to Acquire Home Delivery Incontinent Supplies Co. for $45 Million
(USA, August 18, 2016) Domtar Corporation today announced that it had agreed to purchase the privately-held Home Delivery Incontinent Supplies Co. (“HDIS”), a leading, national direct-to-consumer provider of adult incontinence and related products for a total cash consideration of $45 million with a possible earn-out payment of up to $10 million.

Zanders Launches Flexible Oil and Grease Resistant Packaging Paper
(Germany, August 18, 2016) German specialty paper producer Zanders is launching the new oil and grease resistant (OGR) food contact paper Zanbarrier OGR. In the future, Zanbarrier will also be available in other barrier variations, rounding off the range of flexible packaging paper.

New Study Finds Paper Use on the Rise in the Classroom

Resolute to Deploy Enzyme-Enabled Carbon Capture Technology at Saint-Félicien Pulp Mill
(Canada, Aug. 11, 2016) Resolute Forest Products Inc. today announced that it, along with Serres Toundra Inc, has entered into a definitive agreement with CO2 Solutions Inc. to deploy leading enzyme-enabled carbon capture technology at Resolute’s Saint-Félicien pulp mill.

Finland’s Production of Pulp, Paperboard and Softwood Sawn Timber Up in First Half 2016
(Helsinki, August 16, 2016) The forest-based sector’s [Finland] recent investments have boosted production of both paperboard and pulp in the first half of the year. Paperboard production increased 6.6% in January-June and pulp production was up 4.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2015. Production of softwood sawn timber likewise increased substantially in January-June, with output up some five percent. Total softwood sawn timber production came to 5.8 million cubic metres.
