New Romanian tissue paper producer to launch plant

(Bucharest, August 15, 2016) Romanian manufacturer SC Dorysept Com SRL has unveiled plans to launch a new production facility in Bistrița-Năsăud, in the country’s northern part. U.S. Containerboard Production in July Down Slightly

(Washington DC, August 19, 2016) The American Forest & Paper Association released its July 2016 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report, which said containerboard production was 0.7 percent lower compared to July 2015. The month-over-month average daily production compared to June 2016 was 0.3 percent higher. The containerboard operating rate for July decreased to 93.9 percent, while the year-to-date operating rate of 94.4 percent was 1.7 percentage points lower compared to year-to-date 2015. U.S. Kraft Paper Shipments in July Down 10.6 Percent

(Washington DC, August 16, 2016) The American Forest & Paper Association has released its July 2016 U.S. Kraft Paper Report. Total Kraft paper shipments were 133 thousand short tons, 10.6 percent lower compared to July of last year, which had the second highest shipment volume in 2015. Nippon Paper takes to torrefaction to produces biomass fuel

(Tokyo, Japan, August 18, 2016) Torrefied pellets will be used in Nippon Paper’s Kushiro coal-fired power plant. This is roasting wood in a similar manner to coffee beans.
