VPK Paper starts up PM6 in Belgium after rebuild

(Helsinki, August 30, 2016) Valmet announced that it successfully completed a comprehensive rebuild of paper machine 6 (PM6) at VPK Paper’s Oudegem mill in Belgium, and the machine has successfully started-up. The rebuild, which involved the forming, drying and reeling sections, will increase PM6’s production capacity from about 185,000 tons per year to some 200,000 tpy of high quality packaging grades. (Stockholm, Sweden, August 24, 2016) In July, global producers’ stocks increased by 4 days of supply to 39 days, with softwood kraft as well as hardwood kraft up 4 days. Global shipments declined marginally compared to July last year, down 0.5%. Softwood kraft pulp reached an average shipment-to-capacity ratio of 90%, while hardwood reached 84%. Stats: China’s pulp imports surge in July 2016

(Beijing, August 30, 2016) As per data recently released by China Customs, the country’s pulp imports spiked in July 2016, month-over-month.
